The bath sponge is one of the most popular accessories we use to maintain our hygiene. However, the variety among them is huge, and the different species hide their specifics. Today, thanks to the introduction of different synthetic materials, various types of mushrooms are created, which are similar to those already present in nature, but have different characteristics. Thus, artificial mushrooms often turn out to be harder or more aggressive on the skin than natural ones. They are produced artificially, based on materials such as polyester and polyurethane. They are usually more resistant to tearing, but also less absorbent than natural ones. There are also several types of this type of sponge: smoother or "abrasive", colored and with more complex surfaces to allow more active exfoliation and more effective skin massage. They are cheaper than natural, but are not recommended for people with sensitive skin.
